Position Maintenance Technician - Quebec
Job Type Permanent
Education
  • Industrial Millwright certification OR Mechanical / Electro-mechanical qualification / experience
  • 5 yrs+ experience in production maintenance and manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of PLC troubleshooting
  • Good communication skills – written and verbal
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices
  • Strong knowledge in hydraulics and pneumatics, mechanical components, valves, motors, gearboxes, pumps, conveyors, fans, etc.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge of machining and welding (MIG, Stick) an asset
  • Able to work with little or no supervision
  • Able to work assigned shift
Duties / Responsibilities
  • Day + Afternoon rotation (will be moving to continentals end of 2025)
  • Complete maintenance assignments as directed
  • Participate in the identification of equipment operating poorly / inefficiently or developing issues that could lead to poor functioning
  • Diagnose and rectify identified equipment issues
  • Automation analysis and fault diagnosis, including PLCs, VFDs
  • Carry out a range of mechanical and electrical tests and analyses of machines, components and materials
  • Participate in the development of maintenance plans to correct complex problems, prevent breakdowns and minimize production downtime
  • Document all failures and maintenance activities using CMMS software – record time to complete work orders, parts used, time equipment returned to production, etc.
  • Inspection, servicing and repairing of mechanical and electrical installations, equipment and machinery
  • Maintain facility equipment including maintenance, repairs, upgrades
  • Conduct site maintenance, upgrades or projects directly or in partnership with contractors
  • Work with a mindset of accountability, collaboration, QA and Continuous Improvement
  • Participate in the assessment of operational processes, bottlenecks, and implement strategies to enhance efficiency, streamline workflow, reduce costs
  • Support and assist the production team
  • Follow health and safety standards and maintain a safe work environment
  • Other duties as assigned

Pay Range up to $40/hr to start
