Position Facilities Manager - Kingston

Education
  • College Diploma
  • 5 yrs+ direct work experience as a Facilities Superintendent in an industrial environment
  • WHMIS and Fall Arrest training
  • Valid Driver’s License (G or higher)
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Intermediate level MS Office skills
  • Effective use of time management and organizational skills
  • Willing to wear required PPE (safety boots, eyeglasses, hard hat, protective gloves) as needed / depending on nature of work being performed
  • Willing to travel between plant locations at times as needed
Duties / Responsibilities
  • Responsible for maintenance of all fixed assets, building and grounds to keep them in optimum working order
  • Arrange and execute preventative and energy repairs and upkeep of buildings
  • Ensure that all support equipment is operating efficiently and as designed
  • Carry out routine inspection of all buildings, grounds and support equipment (including company vehicles)
  • Manage waste, recyclables and hazardous materials
  • Maintain building security systems in working order
  • Manage lawn care services
  • Manage snow removal services
  • Management of parking lots
  • Management of Janitorial services contracts
  • Manage drinking water services and contracts
  • Ensure City Permits for all buildings are obtained in a timely manner
  • Ensure Fire Safety Equipment complies with Fire Code and that fire safety procedures are followed on an annual basis
  • Carry out scheduled inspections including monthly JHSC inspection, annual site evaluation, health & safety, audits and preventative maintenance as required of building, equipment and tools to ensure that all equipment is in good repair and working order ; complete sign-off sheet
  • Ensure eye wash stations and First Aid kits are compliant
  • Liaise with outside contractors to ensure compliance with building rules and regulations and the building systems are not altered or damaged ; assist and monitor contractors as required
  • Review invoices and expenditures to ensure that spending is within planned budget allocations
  • Review with Director of Operations unbudgeted expenses prior to incurring them
  • Provide technical or administrative advice to internal and external clients
