Education
  • Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certificate an asset
  • 10 yrs+ of manufacturing sector experience up to upper management level
  • Demonstrated process improvement experience
  • Excellent process analysis and change management skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Experience with MRP Software, MS Excel
  • Good communication, verbal and written skills in English
  • Effective use of time management and goal setting initiatives
Duties / Responsibilities
  • Responsible for day to day production operations within all production departments as well as weekly & monthly area performance including output, labour productivity and quality
  • Oversee manufacture of products while ensuring compliance with safety, production outputs, productivity and quality standards
  • Organize departmental management structure and teams for operational efficiency
  • Successful execution of weekly Production Schedule, overtime management and productivity
  • Develop and implement integrated solutions to achieve rapid, sustainable, enterprise-wide cost saving, largely through operating efficiencies
  • Develop and implement plants to efficiently use materials, labour and equipment to meet production targets
  • Identify employee training needs, train and oversee training of employees in the use of new equipment, procedures, processes and production techniques
  • Review and adjust specific workforce activities, task schedules, and assignments to meet established production schedules and plans
  • Work with staff members to overcome work challenges
  • Ensure a healthy and safe work environment and comply with relevant regulations (federal, provincial) while collaborating with H&S staff
  • Conduct regular 5S audits
  • Champion a positive labour relations culture and adhere to HR policies and standards ; communicate same to team members and include HR Manager in relevant matters
  • Participate in incident investigations and reviews as needed
  • Assist COO with long-range operating goals and implementation of new technologies and any expansion efforts
  • Work with COO to develop operating budget
  • Provide input to upper management regarding purchases, layout, use and maintenance of equipment & machinery

Pay Range up to $145K to start + benefits
