Position Millwright - Afternoon Shift - Kitchener area

Education
  • Industrial Millwright (433A) certification - Inter Provincial / Red Seal OR Ontario
  • Certificate of Millwright Apprenticeship an asset
  • 5 yrs+ in an automated industrial production environment performing mechanical maintenance of plant equipment
  • 2 yrs minimum experience in maintenance in a food processing environment
  • Competent using SMAW (MIG) and GTAW (TIG) welding processes
  • Good knowledge of oral and written English and Mathematics
  • Working knowledge of OHSA standards and regulations
  • Any PLC troubleshooting or program editing experience an asset
  • Good attention to detail, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Good troubleshooting and problem solving skills
Duties / Responsibilities
  • SHIFT HOURS: 2:30pm to 11:00pm Mon. to Fri.
  • Provide support in troubleshooting / repairs and system improvements (optimization) to ensure quality and efficiency
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures; identify replacement parts
  • Assist on-site contractors as required
  • Perform preventative maintenance (PMs) on all equipment as required
  • Document and maintain details of inspections
  • Participate in ongoing cross-training, multi-skilling activities within the organization
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency in achieving results
  • Ensure that all operator safety devices function properly on completion of repairs, modifications and installations
  • Know and understand process documentation and customer specific requirements, as they relate to this job function
  • Install, align, dismantle and move industrial machinery and mechanical equipment, such as pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, furnaces, and generators according to layout plans using hand and power tools
  • Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as forklifts, jacks and handling equipment to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up, repair of machinery
  • Operate machine tools such as grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery
  • Rebuild and/or overhaul machinery and equipment as required

Pay Range $44.51/hr + benefits
