MECHANIC
Responsibilities
- Service and maintain medium and heavy-duty trucks and mounted hydraulic equipment
- Maintain service documentation records and complete reports of work performed
- Review work orders and establish priorities with Garage Foreman
- Ensure the schedule for vehicle and equipment repairs are fulfilled as assigned
- Troubleshoot and maintain hydraulic and electric systems
- Continuously learn in welding, fabricating, and grinding, and gas and electric systems
- Perform all duties in compliance with all policies, procedures and safety regulations
- Maintain a valid driver’s licence to pick up, deliver and test vehicles
Qualifications and Requirements
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working on heavy duty trucks or heavy-duty equipment
- Valid Driver’s Licence – Driver Abstract will be requested
- High School Diploma required
- Required to provide own tools
- Related Technical Trade 310T Certificate is preferred though apprentices are also eligible
- Knowledge of utility equipment is an asset
- Hydraulic experience is an asset
- Welding experience is an asset
- Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of heavy equipment, trucks and trailers
- Accuracy diagnosing mechanical issues
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Cleanliness in working environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills as it relates to trucks and equipment
- Strong communication skills
