Position Millwright - Afternoon Shift - Etobicoke
Job Type Permanent
Education
  • Millwright license (433A) OR individual with no license but strong experience with mechanical maintenance
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic or in a similar role in a manufacturing / industrial setting
  • Hands-on experience with food manufacturing ; may consider pharma or similar
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems
  • Working knowledge of GMP and HACCP compliance
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in production
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Proactive mindset with respect to maintenance duties vs. just reactive ‘firefighting’
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Team player able to also work independently, manage multiple priorities and make sound decisions
  • Good organizational skills
  • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
Duties / Responsibilities
  • Oversee maintenance of production equipment and facility operations with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Plan and schedule maintenance duties to reduce downtime
  • Ensuring equipment reliability and continuously improving maintenance processes
  • Oversee maintenance and repair of all equipment, systems, and infrastructure to ensure optimal operation
  • Collect and store machinery parts, ensure proper controls to prevent damage or having non-conforming parts being used
  • Schedule and oversee contractors for specialized tasks, ensuring quality, safety, and timely completion of projects
  • Handle repairs, installations, and upgrades in compliance with safety regulations
  • Advise plant management and production supervisory team of any major equipment problems
  • Develop and execute PM schedules to minimize downtime and prolong equipment life
  • Complete periodic checklists and reports as necessary and make recommendations on machinery-related projects as needed
  • Assemble, install and maintain machinery including conveyor systems, ovens, mixers, and packaging equipment
  • Repair and replace defective machine parts following technical manuals, technical standards and company guidelines / procedures
  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with Health & Safety regulations and company guidelines
  • Collaborate with production staff / machine operators as needed with respect to machinery use and concerns

Pay Range up to $50/hr to start dep. on exper. + benefits
