Position Quality Engineer - Cambridge

Education
  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering preferred but will consider others)
  • CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) certification an asset
  • 8 yrs+ experience in a quality department in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive Tier 1
  • 5 yrs+ experience as a Quality Engineer including participation on new program launches
  • Knowledge of formal documentation systems such as ISO 9001 and IATF 16949
  • Knowledge of AIAG Core tools (PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC, PFMEA, etc.)
  • Understanding of problem solving, corrective actions, and statistical analysis
  • Proactive approach to quality control and quality assurance
  • Able to acquire and analyze data to facilitate process improvements
Duties / Responsibilities
  • Monitor the performance of and ensure correct use of advanced quality planning and engineering to enhance quality, reliability and acceptance of the system, processes, and products
  • Provide a professional level of quality customer service to both internal and external customers / suppliers
  • Generate and maintain accurate documentation relating to quality, reliability and process
  • Implement detection systems to eliminate problems that affect quality and reliability
  • Prepare and present reports (PPM, Cost of Quality, NCR, Traveller updates, etc.)
  • Develop and implement quality programs, including tracking, analyzing, reporting and problem solving
  • Accurately file all quality paperwork (customer complaints, control plans, quality alerts, weekly logs, etc.)
  • Complete assigned tasks in APQP and launch of new products
  • Accurately complete and submit on time customer PPAPs
  • Develop control plan, FMEAs, and conduct reverse FMEA audits
  • Responsible for issuing NCRs, creating a process for containment, writing clear instructions and reports
  • Responsible for performing 8D corrective actions and writing reports for submission to customer
  • Enter information for data collection
  • Actively participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives

Pay Range $68K to $80K to start
