Education |
- Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering preferred but will consider others)
- CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) certification an asset
- 8 yrs+ experience in a quality department in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive Tier 1
- 5 yrs+ experience as a Quality Engineer including participation on new program launches
- Knowledge of formal documentation systems such as ISO 9001 and IATF 16949
- Knowledge of AIAG Core tools (PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC, PFMEA, etc.)
- Understanding of problem solving, corrective actions, and statistical analysis
- Proactive approach to quality control and quality assurance
- Able to acquire and analyze data to facilitate process improvements

Duties / Responsibilities |
- Monitor the performance of and ensure correct use of advanced quality planning and engineering to enhance quality, reliability and acceptance of the system, processes, and products
- Provide a professional level of quality customer service to both internal and external customers / suppliers
- Generate and maintain accurate documentation relating to quality, reliability and process
- Implement detection systems to eliminate problems that affect quality and reliability
- Prepare and present reports (PPM, Cost of Quality, NCR, Traveller updates, etc.)
- Develop and implement quality programs, including tracking, analyzing, reporting and problem solving
- Accurately file all quality paperwork (customer complaints, control plans, quality alerts, weekly logs, etc.)
- Complete assigned tasks in APQP and launch of new products
- Accurately complete and submit on time customer PPAPs
- Develop control plan, FMEAs, and conduct reverse FMEA audits
- Responsible for issuing NCRs, creating a process for containment, writing clear instructions and reports
- Responsible for performing 8D corrective actions and writing reports for submission to customer
- Enter information for data collection
- Actively participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives
